OCTOBER 2008 To celebrate his 50th year in show business, country music legend Kenny Rogers made his way to Australia. Kenny Rogers returned to Australia in October 2008. Andrew McManus presented the country music legend as he performed many of the incredible hits that have made him one of the all time greats.
Having recorded more than 65 albums which have sold 105 million records worldwide, Kenny Rogers is one of country music’s most popular and successful stars. He is the only recording artist in history to chart a record in each of the last six decades (50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s).
Kenny Rogers has an incredible collection of hits including ‘Lady’, ‘Ruby Don’t Take Your Love To Town’, ‘The Gambler’, ‘She Believes In Me”, “Islands In The Stream”, “We’ve Got Tonight”, “Coward Of The Country”, “You Decorated My Life” and “Reuben James” to name just a few.
For his first Australian tour in a decade, Kenny Rogers performed many of his most celebrated hits from his 50 year career with his full American band. It was a rare chance to see one of country music’s true superstars in one unforgettable night.
